Travel Planning

When you arrive in Pullman the WSU Visitors Center, located at 150 E Spring St., can help you with directions and campus information. You can reach them at 509-335-INFO(4636) or visit their website at visitor.wsu.edu.

Check-in will take place in the Compton Union Building (CUB) on the second floor.

Coming to Pullman

Check in will begin at 7 am and continue until 9 am.  

Plane: You can fly directly into the Pullman-Moscow Airport (four miles from campus). For flight information into Pullman visit the Horizon Airlines Web site. If you fly into Spokane (80 miles from campus), call Wheatland Express, 800-334-2207, or visit their Web site for transportation from the airport to campus.

Bus: Major bus routes, including Greyhound, pass through Pullman. The bus stop is located downtown, approximately two miles from campus.

Driving: Driving time from Spokane, ninety minutes; from Seattle is approximately five hours; and from Portland, six hours. Print detailed directions.

Parking: Transfer Registration Days participants should print their parking permit and parking map before arriving in Pullman.

  • The Sunday parking permit will allow you to park in any Green, Yellow, Red or Blue lot. The Monday permit will only allow you to park in the Red 5 lot at the Tennis Courts. Please make sure the correct permit is displayed on dash, and see the map below for directions. To obtain your parking permits, please visit the event parking website and follow these steps:
    • Under WSU Active Directory, enter your Network ID and Password
    • Under Permits, Click "Order An Event Permit" and agree to Terms of Service
    • Select the “Transfer Alive! 2018” permit, click "Next" and follow the prompts to input license plate information and print your permit.

Pullman Transit Access

Your Alive! orientation name tag (provided to you at program check in) will allow you to access the Pullman Transit bus system for free on both days of the orientation program.  Particularly on Monday morning, feel free to take the Crimson Express buses to the stops closest to your assigned dining center:

  • Board the bus at either end of the Red 5 parking lot
  • If you eat at Northside Dining Center, depart the bus at the Cougar Way at Regents Hall bus stop
  • If you eat at Hillside Dining Center, depart the bus at the Campus Street at Spokane Street bus stop
  • If you eat at Southside Dining Center, depart the bus at the Washington Street at Nevada Street bus stop

Overnight Accommodations

We do not provide housing accommodations for students or parent(s)/guest(s) during the March session of Transfer Alive!

  • A block of rooms have been reserved at a group rate at the Pullman Courtyard Marriott. If you would like to reserve a room within that block, please follow this link.

Reminder: All students participating in Transfer Alive! will need to attend the entire orientation program in order to register for classes at the end of the session.  Students will be finished around 4:00 p.m. on Monday, March 26, 2018.
